Stephen Wise-Katriel —recording artist, songwriter, record producer—performs and showcases original music from his acclaimed CDs, on which he plays various flutes, saxophones and keyboards, as well as aboriginal didgeridoos, conch shells and Native/African drums. He has been called shaman, healer, sage, wise man and more through the “beautiful noise” his music makes. As part of his commitment and passion to the performing arts, Stephen develops and records innovative new artists, and humbly states, “I am in service to humanity through my music.”
Discovered by Stevie Wonder— Stephen Wise-Katriel was a featured vocalist on several of Stevie’s records including “Jungle Fever” & “Characters.” He also has performed and recorded with Patti Labelle, Boyz II Men, The Roots, Britney Spears, and Teena Marie, while gaining global visibility by winning a semi-finalist spot on Ed McMahon’s “Star Search” in the male vocalist category.
When not performing as Katriel, you can usually find Stephen playing with his dynamic band, the Edge, the Delaware Valley’s premiere private party band. They deliver excitement on all fronts, captivating and enchanting crowds nationally and internationally whenever they hit the stage. Together they have appeared at over 500 weddings, gala events, corporate parties, and mitzvahs.
