While still in high school, Ivan was signed by Grand Records to play guitar, sing, and write songs for his rock & soul band—the Oxfords. When the band moved to ABC Paramount Records, home of such legendary artists as Ray Charles and B. B. King, their records, including You Won’t See Me (Lennon & McCartney), were produced by mega hit-maker Bernie Lowe.
After winning a Shubert Playwriting Fellowship, earning an MFA and PhD, founding the New Group Theatre, Star Engagements, Inc., and serving as the director of arts management programs at several universities, Ivan joined Peter Scott Ruben Orchestras as their premiere band leader and the company’s managing director, and subsequently went on to establish Ivan Taub Music.
The reputation and track-record of Dr. Ivan Taub is unmatched and his love of singing and performing has never waned. He has appeared at almost 1000 weddings, gala events, corporate parties, and mitzvahs. A few career highlights include:

At a regional music and performing arts seminar, Ivan mused: “Back in the day, I never imagined my Oxford records, TV appearances, club gigs, and jam sessions with friends in Hall & Oates, the Patti Smith Band, and other aspiring Philly and New York recording artists, would one day become some of my most treasured memories—or launch a non-stop career in the performing arts and arts management. At the time, I was just having fun. It was often chaotic and crazy—but always fun!”
Today, Ivan continues to earn the admiration of fans. His innovative, world-class, dance band—evolving as musical trends change—always includes exceptional front-line, lead vocalists/performers, backed by a dynamic rhythm section and horns. Their sizzling performances of Motown, 70s Dance Club, Sinatra Standards, Classic Rock, Funky Soul, Jazz, and the Newest Hits—pack dance floors, year after year, at celebrated hotels, casinos, and ballrooms in the Pennsylvania tri-state area.
